Buenos Aires, February 1 (NA) — Federal Police officers detained a 29-year-old man known as 'The Jackal' in the locality of Wilde, who was a fugitive from justice after being accused of repeatedly raping his stepdaughter. The accused, who lived with the victim's mother in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Balvanera, took advantage of moments when he was left in charge of the 4-year-old minor to commit the abuses while the woman went to work. The investigation, which began with a complaint from the girl's biological father after noticing strange behavior in his daughter, led to Cámara Gesell examinations that confirmed the attacks that occurred between May 2021 and January 2022. Although the case had already been elevated to trial by the Oral and Correctional Court No. 25, the aggressor disappeared from his home before being notified, which prompted the intervention of the Division of Fugitive Search. After being identified at the intersection of Camino General Belgrano and Bouchard, he was immediately made available to Judge Marcelo Romero under the accusation of sexual abuse.
